THE PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION
Photography has enjoyed enormous significance in Cuba, at the latest since the revolution, i.e. for a good 60 years. It was the great photographers, such as the Swiss Rene Burri or Alberto Korda, who shaped the revolutionary image of Cuba. Iconic images such as Alberto Korda's photo portrait Che Guevara went around the world. They cemented Cuba's image to this day. But what is Cuba really like today? Where is it heading? Who are the Cubans and what does Havana look like now? Since I myself travel to Cuba several times a year, I can pursue these questions and try to portray the face of Cuba today - its people and landscapes - with my camera. The photos are stored in various samplers on topics such as Mi Cuba (my Cuba), Los Cubanos (the Cubans), La Habana (Havana), Bicicleta (bicycle) and Oldtimers (old cars). Under Cuba Photographers you will find links to photographers in Cuba and elsewhere who are on the trail of Cuba.
